Valentines Gifts for Mum -to-be or Parents

Love is in the Air!

Valentines Gifts for Mum- to- be and Parents

It’s the first of February so that means it’s the month of LOVE!

It’s a busy time for us and our heart collection and matching pyjamas has a range of products to help with gifts for a baby’s first Valentines Day, a special gift for a mum to be this Valentines Day, parents or special loved ones. Who doesn’t love a bit of love!

Our organic cotton heart pyjamas and matching family pyjamas make great gifts. They don’t guarantee an undisturbed nights sleep (any parents dream) but they are so soft and cosy and the perfect excuse for some extra PJ time! You can choose from matching pyjamas for siblings, family or couple pyjamas too.

Our MAMA slippers are also a lovely gift for mum from the children this Valentines Day.

Here are a few other gift ideas that any parent or mum to be would LOVE this Valentines Day.

A Sleep in!

What better gift than a few extra hours in bed or an afternoon nap! A perfect gift for Mum or Dad and even better in new pyjamas!

Homemade card

There’s nothing better than a homemade card from your little one. Whether it’s a hand or footprint from your baby or a craft creation from your toddler, for me nothing beats a homemade creation. If you’re not into craft then a photo card is equally special.

Get the Kids involved!

My 4 year old loves getting involved in little surprises for me or his Dad. Whether it’s getting your little one to help make a cake, make some wrapping paper, set the table or choosing a gift (even if it is something really random –last time Tate chose a tube of mints!) it takes the pressure of you a bit and adds their special touch to the treat for mum or Dad.

Take Away

Take the night off, order a take away and snuggle up in your matching PJs. You definitely deserve a night off.

Love yourself

As a new parent you often don’t get time to look after yourself as you’re always looking after others. Why not give yourself a little treat – make a date to meet a friend, get your nails done, have a PJ day while the kids are at playgroup and give yourself a day off the household/life duties.

Happy Valentines Day and Big love from the PJ Mamma team

The Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro’ the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar plums danced in their heads

There is no other evening as magical as Christmas Eve, the anticipation of a visit from Father Christmas, your favourite carols playing on repeat, presents wrapped and pilled under the tree.  It’s the perfect night to spend time as a family, we look forward to it year after year. Families across the world have lots of their own traditions that they carry out from the sacred to the sentimental, we love when people tell us that every Christmas Eve they are allowed to open one present and they always know what its going to be, new matching pjs for the family!

Traditionally we always put on our pjs too, snuggle on the sofa to watch The Snowman and put ourselves into a food comma drinking hot chocolate and eating cookies! I’m so excited to be able to put two boys in matching pjs this year after Emmets arrival 4 weeks ago.

When the film is over we will scatter reindeer food, put out Fathers Christmas’ snack and take the boys to bed, reading Christmas books as they drift off. Then for a glass of wine and that last minute wrapping…

All of our favourite matching Christmas print pjs are in stock this year including the bear, the star, the robin and the reindeer.  https://pjmamma.co.uk/product-category/christmas-pyjamas/

Why not treat the family to a supersoft pair and make the night before Christmas almost as special as the day after! They make for a great family photo on Christmas morning too!

Surprising facts on breastfeeding!

Feeding made easy with our soft organic cotton breastfeeding pyjama

With the recent launch of our breastfeeding pyjamas and the arrival of my second son Emmet who I seem to have been feeding round the clock! My mind has constantly been on the highs and lows of breastfeeding and how something so natural can be so tricky to master especially in the first few weeks.

Whilst researching how to make our breastfeeding pyjamas the best you can buy I came across lots of interesting facts on the subject which I thought you might like to read

Did you know…

  1. Two thirds of Mums produce more milk from their right breast than their left – how bizarre is that?! And it has nothing to do with being left or right handed!
  1. The milk you produce changes in nutritional value as your baby grows so the milk you make for a 3 month old is different than for a 9 month old, isn’t that amazing!
  1. If you baby is under the weather the milk you produce will be darker in colour and contain more antibodies helping your baby to fight any infections or illness, our bodies really are amazing.
  1. Apparently human milk contains substances that promote sleep and calmness in babies
  1. It takes on average 1000 calories a day to produce milk and breastfeeding mothers are advised to eat an extra 500 calories a day – the perfect excuse for cake!
  1. Apparently studies have shown that baby boys drink more breastmilk per day, on average, than girls!

However we really do appreciate that breastfeeding is far from easy and women need lots of support to breastfeed successfully, hopefully our pyjamas can be part of that. We take no judgement or view on “breast is best” its ultimately about mum and baby both being happy. Just know that we are here to support you with some PJ comfort if you are breastfeeding or not!

Brand New Breastfeeding Pyjama

Braestfeeding pyjama
Braestfeeding pyjama

PJ Mamma first started with the Mamma pyjamas, and has grown to include baby, toddler and Dad PJs too. Over the past few years I’ve had lots of requests for breastfeeding pyjamas so I am very excited to be launching our new breastfeeding pyjamas during World Breastfeeding week

They have been tried and tested by mums and babies to make sure they offer the easiest feeding option and give maximum comfort too. When designing the pyjamas, I also used my own experience of breastfeeding my son.

I feel lucky to have had a very positive experience of breastfeeding my son Tate. He was a big feeder and he would never take a bottle, which was pretty demanding at times but I really cherished our feeding time together. On those sleepy, blurry days, I always liked the feeling I had his milk, and his biggest source of comfort on hand, even if I had forgotten his other key vitals!

When you have a new baby you are likely to be spending lots of time in your pyjamas. Day to night can become a bit of a blur in the early days so having comfortable pyjamas is a big bonus.  You are likely to have a flow of visitors coming to see you and your new love.

I found the early days a bit tricky when I was first finding my way with breastfeeding and the house was full of visitors.  Our breastfeeding pyjamas make feeding as easy and discreet as possible.  A big barrier to breastfeeding can be confidence in front of other people. Our breastfeeding pyjamas are designed to make feeding as simple as possible, with no clips or ties to fuss with. They allow your baby to get full access so you can achieve good positioning and latch.

Why are our new breastfeeding pyjamas special?

  • Designed by Mamma’s and Babies!
  • They are made from the softest organic cotton to give maximum comfort.
  • They have been tried and tested by mums and babies and the form has been designed to be as accessible and feed friendly possible.
  • With no clips or ties to fuss with. They allow your baby to get full access so you can achieve good positioning and latch.
  • The heart breast print can be used to help record which side you last fed from
  • You can add a matching baby romper with a bum heart print for the cute factor!

See what our Mamma’s had to say…

I LOVE these pyjamas! My son is 6 months old now so I have grown in my confidence when feeding but I still love how discrete they are.  My son is a big feeder so the easy access was perfect. Lorna – London

This is the comfiest breastfeeding pajama top I have come across. Not only is it super soft, I can feed my little girl with ease and without covering her face up so she’s happy too! I have actually worn it around the house as a casual top as well as a pj top and have been so happy and relieved to eventually find a nursing top which isn’t ‘maternity’ wear and just want to be in it all of the time! Thank you PJMamma x  Natalie – London

Breastfeeding is not easy and women need lots of support to breastfeed successfully and hopefully our pyjamas can be part of that. Whether you feed bottle or breast, its what works for you and your baby. Ultimately it’s about mum and baby being happy!  Just know PJ Mamma are here to support you with some PJ comfort.

There was even a ‘pregnancy’ announcement made wear my PJs which was so exciting see. I always feel so happy seeing you enjoying your pyjamas and receiving your happy feedback- so thank you for sharing!

As we go into the new year I am getting prepared for another busy period with Valentines Day and Mothers Day the next big celebrations.  Last year there was a lot of LOVE for the heart print pyjama range during the month of LOVE!
